Philodendron ‘Neon’ Heart-leafed, variegated, climbing/trailing philodendron
There are many types of colorful plants in this genus of plants. Philodendrons are native to tropical rainforests where they ruggedly climb up trees. When translated into a home setting, these plants prefer dappled light—much like the canopy of a tropical rainforest and make great hanging baskets.
‘Neon’ offers a colorful twist on a plant that has been a houseplant favorite for generations. With its bright yellow, it really pops! Heart-Leaf Philodendrons are some of the easiest tropical plants to grow indoors. While ‘Neon’ tolerates all kinds of neglect including low light, poor soil and inconsistent watering, they do best in brightly lit rooms with ample light and regular fertilizer. This is a great first-time houseplant or gift plant and it’s perfect for anyone who wants to enjoy the natural beauty of plants without a lot of maintenance.
Other common varieties range from full yellow and green variegation to dark green. The most common varieties of philodendrons are the climbing type. The upright types tend to be larger-leaved and have a more compact habit. Upright varieties are also slower growing but can become quite large if you let them.
